Don't be an April Fool! Be prepared back up your data on 31st March!
and everyday thereafter....
Saturday 31st March is World Backup Day. The driving force behind this global initiative is the desire to educate and inform on the true cost of data loss. And when we lose something permanently - family photos, a company accounting system, a future bestseller on a laptop - there is always a price: regret, despair, lost business...The founder of World Backup Day, Ismail Jadun, reminds us that 30% of people - including some businesses - have never backed up their data. The reasons are usually ignorance or apathy.
The World Backup Day Pledge!
Backup comes in many forms: from occasional manual copies of a few files to a USB drive to continuous data protection in block mode to high-grade storage. It's up to each person, each organization to find the solution to ensure their data is backed up adequately.
"I hope that World Backup Day sparks conversations about the enormous task of saving our digital heritage for future generations."
At Atempo, we have a few years' experience (well 25 to be precise!) designing backup solutions for our customers both big and small.
Since joining forces with Wooxo last year our group now offers backup solutions from very small businesses with a couple of gigabytes to major corporations with petabytes of data.
So we fully support World Backup Day and hope it drives many to protect their most precious assets (digitally speaking!). We'd like to share a few of our backup success user stories starting with Phil, the IT guy, who used one of our products, Live Navigator, to recover his boss's key presentation files following a cyberattack on her laptop.
We have many user stories of how backup and of course recovery can save your activities. You can read just a few of them right here:
