Written by Karen Holcman | Nov 18, 2021 3:06:06 PM

Global cyberattacks have increased at an alarming rate as hackers continue to exploit the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing use of remote work.

Lina 5.3 is the latest version of Atempo’s workstations and laptops protection solution. And the opportunity to review the new features in this version and other recent versions.

With Geoffrey Bitard, Atempo Product Marketing Manager.

Lina 5.3 will be available very soon. COULD YOU DESCRIBE THE FEATURES IN THIS LATEST VERSION ?

Among the key features we have a brand-new reporting system redesigned to be more efficient and easier to use. Reporting templates are available with all the main monitoring statistics. A scheduler also automates the production of these reports which saves time for operating resources. Another highly-awaited featured in this version is the direct and automatic generated reports sent by email and the access to the reports from a web interface.

As we know, workstations security is increasingly critical. For greater security, Lina 5.3 is equipped with a connection mode compatible with 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) providing greater safety and limiting potential attacks on the backup solution. Easy to set-up, it requires the use of an authenticator application to generate a random code, essential to connect to the administration console.

Lina 5.3 is also getting new API documentation which is perfect for automating tasks and integrating Lina into an MSP offering.

Other customer requests have been heard and implemented including support for the latest version of macOS Monterey, previewing files before recovery or managing licenses directly from the software interface.

IN 2021, LINA BENEFITTED FROM SIGNIFICANT development. COULD YOU FILL US IN ON THESE CHANGES?

Sure! Lina 5.3 succeeds Lina 5.2, released in May 2021. Lina 5.2 included some cool and essential features such as stronger security and confidentiality, updates automation, simplification of backup supervision or the redesign of the user interfaces. With its modernized design approach, Lina is in line with Atempo’s strategy to propose a complete reworking of user interfaces. In 2021, Lina is getting new colors, logos, and icons for an enhanced user experience.

Security was at the core of the previous version with secure cross-restore using dedicated tokens. Multi-user workstations were also targeted for improvements by limiting the restore view to only the directory of the logged-is user.

Lina 5.2 also provided automatic agents updates to simplify the deployment of new versions or patches. In addition, the optimization of notifications was reviewed with the possibility of contacting the administrator by email to report problems detected by the solution.
